The package includes two classes required to become a Smog Inspector:

1. Level 1 Inspector Training

2. Level 2 Inspector Training

Level 1 Inspector Training: Engine and Emission Control Training is designed to give students a basic understanding of engine and emission control theory, design, and operation. Students who complete this training at a BAR-certified school will have completed the first step of the Bureau of Automotive Repair’s training requirements for inexperienced or minimally experienced candidates for the Smog Check Inspector license.

Inspector Level 2 Training: This training prepares students for Smog Check inspections.

Completing Inspector Level 1 and Inspector Level 2 classes will fulfill the Bureau's training requirements for eligibility for the smog check inspector state licensing examination.
