This training package is designed for individuals who want to qualify for the Smog repair technician exam or renew their repair license without needing the ASE A6, A8, and L1 certifications. The focus is on electrical/electronic systems, engine, and emission control performance. It can also be used as an alternative to ASE A-6, A-8, and L-1 certifications for recertification. Those with at least two years of experience in engine performance repair can take the state licensing examination for the Smog Check Repair Technician License after completing this training. This class is also useful for renewing a repair license every 5 years or obtaining a repair license.
